Adams State won the team title with 34 points. Colorado Mines (102) claimed second, followed by Alaska Anchorage (148), Augustana (182) and Chico State (183). It marked the Wildcats' 13th consecutive top-10 finish and ninth top-five result in the past 11 years.
Chico State junior Isaac Chavez finished the 6.2-mile race 13th in 29 minutes, 53.5 seconds, and senior Adrian Sherrod came in 27th to both earn All-America honors among the top 40. It was Chavez's third straight All-America award, only the third Wildcat to do that, and Sherrod got his second All-America medal, one of eight Wildcats with at least two.
Also for Chico State, Alfonso Cisneros (50th), Dayne Gradone (60th) and Johnny Sanchez (70th) wrapped up the team's scoring. Aaron Thomas came in 102nd and Alan Cuevas was 149th in the 245-runner field.
CCCAA State Championships
Butte finished 26th out of 28 teams in Fresno, led by Russell Brandt, who came in 113th in the 204-man field, covering the 4-mile course in 22 minutes, 6 seconds.
Also for the Roadrunners, Eli Stillman (22:20) finished 134th, Kerrick Swangler (22:36) placed 148th, Joan Fernandez (22:46) took 160th and Nathan Inkman (23:11) was 176th.

NCAA Division II Championships
Chico State placed fifth for the
second straight year at the national meet in Joplin, Mo., the Wildcats' 10th consecutive top-10 finish.Grand Valley State won the team title with 101 points, ahead of Augustana (104), Adams State (109), Western State (172) and Chico State (200).
Wildcat junior Sara Mikesell finished 14th in the 3.72-mile race to earn All-America honors among the top 40 runners.
Chico State senior Ayla Granados placed 46th, one spot ahead of senior teammate Amy Schnittger. Sophomore Jessica Varela finished 63rd, and senior Paige Henker rounded out the team's scoring in 81st place in the 249-runner field.
Jonah Weeks came in 111th, and Rebekah Bahra finished 137th.
CCCAA State Championships
Butte ended up 24th in a 28-team, 207-runner field, as Sarah Brandt led the Roadrunners in 84th place with a time of 20 minutes, 24 seconds over the 3-mile course.
Butte's Lorena Reed (21:09) finished 129th, Christina Ferretti (21:38) came in 149th, Karina Carrillo (21:45) placed 156th and Yvette Croteau (22:51) took 183rd.
COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL
Butte 71, Las Positas 67
Chase Drews scored 16 points and the Roadrunners won the consolation final at the Mendocino tournament in Ukiah.
Michael Oloya added 12 points for Butte (4-2), which led early and had a 35-25 halftime lead. The Roadrunners carried that 10-point lead into the second half before Las Positas cut the deficit to 69-67 with 24 seconds left. Kenny McMillan made a layup with 10 seconds to go to seal the win for Butte.
COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Chico State 66, Fresno Pacific 63
The Wildcats won their season opener for the 14th straight season, beating Fresno Pacific (0-4) of the Pacific West Conference in Fresno.
McKenzie Dalthorp scored 16 points and had six rebounds for Chico State, with Monnie Davidson-Mays and Jazmine Miller adding 10 points each. Courtney Hamilton scored eight points and dished out eight assists.
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
Chico State 3, Cal State Dominguez Hills 2
The Wildcats rallied in Carson for a 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 17-15 victory over the Toros (12-17, 10-12 California Collegiate Athletic Association) to end the regular season.
Alex Shurtz had 22 kills and 12 digs and Lindsay Quigley also had 22 kills for Chico State (19-10, 13-9). Ellie Larronde added 11 kills, Katie Morley had 10, and Sable Villaescusa had 61 assists and 15 digs. Molly Ratto led the team with 17 digs, Jessica Simms added 16 and Emily Duran had 10.
