Craigslist Adds Maps for Sales Listings, Yard Sales, and Flea Markets As Well As Apartments

Craigslist has expanded its new maps feature?which it rolled out a few months ago to help apartment hunters find a new place?to include yard sales and flea markets, and other sales listings that are highly location dependent, like garage sales and moving sales.

To get to the new maps, just visit Craigslist for your location and select garage sales, flea markets, or any similar available category in your area. You should see a "map view" button at the top of the search results. Click it to get a map, generated by OpenStreetMaps, with little peace-sign pushpins that you can click on to read more about specific sales.

Craigslist has made no bones about clamping down on services that makes its data easier to use, like our beloved Padmapper, which takes apartment listings and puts them on a Google Map that's easier to browse. We'll see if Craigslist clamps down on services that already do this for garage and yard sales, like the previously mentioned Yard Sale Treasure Map. Either way, more maps makes it easier for you to plan your weekend bargain hunting excursion.
