Guineans killed in Liberia plane crash flown home

MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) ? Liberia's information minister says the 11 bodies of the Guineans killed after a military plane crashed in Liberia will be flown back to their homeland.

Lewis Brown said the United Nations is providing the Tuesday flight.

Senior Guinean military officers, including the army chief of staff, were flying to attend Liberia's Armed Forces Day celebrations, when the plane went down early Monday in Charlesville, about 45 kilometers (28 miles) south of Monrovia, the capital.

Brown says the black box and the digital voice recorder from the plane were found, and that Canada's government agreed to take them for examination. One resident who ran to the crash site said she heard screams from the plane before an explosion.

Liberia is observing a day of mourning Tuesday. Guinea is observing three days.
